New Client Intake – Important Information:
I’m excited about our time together and the work we will do. I also value you and your time. You will not only receive the high-quality treatment you deserve but also the decency of on-time sessions and returned calls or emails. I value the opportunity to work with you and the relationship we’ll develop over time. Here are a few logistics before we meet.
Sessions are $110 per 50 minute session. Once you’ve invested in yourself and the process, feel free to take advantage of group packages: 5 sessions for $500 ($50.00 savings) 10 sessions for $950.00 ($150.00 savings).
Group rates vary and I’m happy to discuss those further with you.
Classes and workshop rates also vary.
Making the world a better place is important to me, that’s why I keep my fees very affordable and have built multiple avenues for you to access services. Yes, with my level of experience and expertise, of course I can charge more. Yet, I deeply value this work and want it accessible to as many people as possible. Together, we can do great things!
I am in the business of helping people so you may wonder why I’m not accepting many insurance plans. Though I do accept a very limited number of insurance plans for counseling services, please be sure to read the following information carefully. Please let me help you to make an informed decision. This is very important information about accessing your mental health benefits as it can impact you in ways you may not even realize.
In order to pay for your therapy services, insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis and full access to your private information. This diagnosis becomes part of your permanent medical record as a pre-existing condition that will be used in determining future premium rates, eligibility, life insurance, and security clearance. Most people who inquire about services do not have an actual mental illness. They’re simply struggling with life issues, grief, conflict, or stress. Insurance companies will not pay for services without a mental health diagnosis and you can never erase that from your medical record.
Further, insurance companies require proof of medical necessity, full access to your private information, and allow only for 42 – 45 minute sessions. I’m required to provide private information to them in order to justify their payment. They can determine, at any point to deny and even recoup payment for services rendered, therefore making it your responsibility to pay. These surprise costs are expensive, frustrating, and unfair and yet, they are allowed to do it.
I’ve taken a professional stand against insurance companies who consistently practice these methods. I value relationships and want to offer services that guarantee your best interest and grant you the full 50 minutes. I’ve been in the industry for 25+ years and I have the knowledge and experience to grant you top-notch experience and value.
Paying out of pocket grants you the privacy and quality you deserve. For obvious reasons, many clients choose to pay out of pocket. I’m happy to discuss this with you further.
I accept cash and check as forms of payment. Credit cards are accepted for an additional processing fee. HSA & Flex Spending accounts are also accepted. All payment is expected at the time of service.
